9 Reasons You Should Buy The Magic Bullet Dessert Bullet
I bought the Magic Bullet Dessert Bullet Blender and I have been using it almost every day since. It’s one of the best investments I’ve made. After having it for 10 days, I gave one away as a gift. (So far, I’ve given 4 away, that’s how much I love this machine.)
If you haven’t read Medical Medium by Anthony William, I highly suggest it. Since I started the book, I’ve been eating more fruit. His chapter on “Fruit Fear” explains why eating more fruit is more important than ever. Ever since I was diagnosed with cancer, I’d been limiting the fruits I ate. I mainly had young Thai coconuts, bananas and berries. The idea was to avoid sugars that could feed the cancer but after reading Medical Medium, it makes much more sense to heal with fruit.
After two weeks of eating more fruit every day, my acupuncturist commented on how healthy I looked as soon as I walked in the door. I’ve been feeling lighter and better, which makes sense since it is recommended for my blood type, which is A. It’s also important to consider the Ayuverdic diet. One practice is to eat fruits along with the season, so eat what’s readily available. For the summer, have peaches, strawberries, plums, etc.; for the fall, have persimmons, pomegranates and figs; and so no.
Having fruit is refreshing and easier than trying to scrounge up another snack. If I have a few servings of fruit, I’m good for 2 hours but I wanted to find something to make it more fun.
After sifting through reviews for something to make dessert out of fruit, the two best options are the Magic Bullet Dessert Bullet Blender and the Yonanas Frozen Healthy Dessert Maker. Both machines use frozen fruit pieces to make homemade soft serve ice cream. I call it “nice cream.”
I had a chance to try out the Yonanas machine. It’s noisier than the Magic Bullet Dessert Bullet Blender and it leaves a lot of leftover ice cream in the cone chamber.
Reasons why the Magic Bullet Dessert Bullet Blender is a great choice:
1. During warmer months, it’s ideal to have cooling foods. No more hiding away with a spoon and pint of Ben & Jerry’s in the corner of a dark closet out of guilt or shame.
2. I wanted to find something that is easy enough for my nephew to use. He has autism and according to Medical Medium, he needs more fruit in his diet. The Magic Bullet is really easy to assemble. There are no heavy, awkward or cumbersome parts to this, only six parts including the body that are all made of lightweight plastic and it takes seconds to put together. This is a huge plus because you’re more likely to use it regularly than a heavy machine you need to drag out.
3. It’s better than the Yonanas because it’s quieter. Sound is another issue I considered for my nephew, who has sensory issues and can get overwhelmed by loud noises.
4. The best part is that it’s a really healthy way to have dessert. It’s all natural and you know exactly what’s in it. Making soft serve from fruit means it’s vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free and diabetic friendly.
There’s no carrageenan, corn syrup, “natural” flavors, maltitol or other strange chemicals for you to navigate through. And no canola oil, which I found in a store bought vegan ice cream pint! I don’t remember the brand but canola oil wasn’t found in all of their flavors, which is a good reason to check labels of new items, even from your favorite brands.
5. Pretty much any mix of fruit will be delicious and if it ends up being too tart, like having a lot of berries, you can add honey or maple syrup. Honey added on top stiffens like caramel, adding a gooey texture to the creamy soft serve. Just be sure to add it as a topping instead of adding it down the chute, it might tangle around the auger.
6. You can’t even mess it up. There’s nothing to burn, nothing to preheat. Even just one ingredient of frozen bananas, makes a delicious treat.
7. Cleaning up is a breeze. Putting it together is quick and so is taking it apart. The pieces are dishwasher safe, but why bother? You can quickly wash it with a soapy sponge or just rinse it. There’s no scrubbing of mesh screens and no soaking.
8. It takes so little time. Once the machine is assembled--thawing frozen fruit (5 minutes), pressing the fruit through the machine (3 minutes), and clean-up (2 minutes)—it just takes 10 minutes!
9. The price is reasonable. (When I first bought this in 2017, it was $40. A month later, it was $50. Now as I write this, it’s $178 on Amazon. Your best bet might be to get a pre-owned one on eBay.)
