Practicing patience --for the cancer patient
I write this as my patience is tested. I am on the phone with my insurance company for about the 10th time. I have been trying to get an answer about several claims I have submitted for reimbursement. I had been told that vitamin drips would be covered. I submitted my claims 7 weeks ago. I was told that the claim would be processed in 7 to 10 business days.
Each time I called in for status, I had to give them all of the dates, and answer the same questions, only to be told that the claim had not been processed. they told me the same turn around time. The last time I asked to speak to a manager. She looked into it and said that the claims had already been processed. She would send a fax with the claims that had been processed. It would take a day to receive a fax.
I just received it and upon review, the letter addresses the correct dates in questions but does not address the service. In other words, my doctor submitted claims for visits but I submitted claims for vitamin drips. I am still not getting anywhere. Lemonade out of f****** Lemons
I am trying to use this experience and turn it around into something positive. I am choosing to look at this as a way to increase my patience. I am choosing not to chew out each new representative. I am choosing peace. Then, I am going to choose to take a break and do something that makes me happy.
